Data refers to issued books, pamphlets and digital editions, continuing editions (newspapers, magazines, bulletins and periodical collections) and other continuing editions (including reports, reference books). The survey includes indicators for the number of titles - total and separately for books and pamphlets, their annual circulation, annual and single circulation of newspapers, magazines, bulletins and periodical collections. The average circulation of a book and pamphlet separately.

Newspaper - publication which contains news for current events of special or common interest, the individual parts of which are listed chronologically or numerically and appear usually at least once a week.

Magazine is a continuing edition which is being published under the same title at regular or irregular intervals, over an indefinite period, each issue is numbered consecutively or is dated.

Official publications - reports and annual accounts of ministries, agencies and other state institutions.

Title - each edition published in one or more volumes, which constitutes a unified whole and which number is established in advance.

Annual circulation of a serial is the total number of copies of all releases of a title for a year.

Single circulation - the average circulation of the circulations of all issues of one title for the year.

Units of observation are publishing houses and the editorial offices operating in the territory of the country.

The target population are all publishing houses and editorial offices of newspapers and magazines.
